Suffering from a shortage of water for irrigation, the Lebanese Maronite Missionaries Association proposed to build a water tank to alleviate this issue for Ghousta.
Before the project was launched, Ghousta had already benefited from donations worth over $80,000 from local residents, companies, and the local convents. These allowed them to implement the first two stages of the project: reclaiming the land by building new terraces and planting orange and kiwi trees. They requested SEAL’s support to implement stage C of the project: it aimed to assure a steady water supply by building a water tank. SEAL provided the grant for the construction material.
