Project Aim
Project Summary:
Bishmizzine faces chronic water shortages due to high fuel costs and frequent power outages. To ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply, the municipality proposes the installation of a solar-powered water pumping system at El Tawileh Well, providing water to 150 households, and 220,000 m² of farmland. Water distribution will be: 65% for irrigation and 35% for household use.

Objectives:
To restore local farming and strengthen food security while reducing operational costs by an estimated $33,000 per year in fuel and maintenance, and lowering household water expenses.

Implementation Plan:
The Municipality of Bishmizzine is seeking SEAL’s support to fund the solar system and commits to providing land preparation and site works, as well as operation and 5-year maintenance. The municipality will contribute $10,000 to the project. Implementation will be carried out in coordination with the municipality, ensuring sustainability through local ownership and long-term maintenance.
