Description and Impact

Farmers suffer during peak season from lack of water, and as part of their saving plans, they were able to only irrigate trees once every 15 days in summer, negatively affecting the trees and the quality of the fruits.

The new irrigation system and its accessories provided through the SEAL grant led to 78% water savings during the hot summer season; each dunum (1000m²) only required 3.5m3 of water daily instead of 16m3. It also increased the farmers’ income to $2,000 per year per dunum.
