Description and Impact
15 farmers who work in the olive industry in Lebaa village and surrounding areas founded OLEA cooperative in 2013 to encourage more people to work in farming and support sustainable development. SEAL granted the cooperative a tractor that plowed olive groves owned by farmers across the entire area. 2,000 dunums plowed by tractor is equal to $100 saved per farmer per day. With the tractor operating 80 days per year, the cooperative saves $8,000 per year.
