Description and Impact
This is the second grant awarded by SEAL to the cooperative. The first one included a successful greenhouse built for vegetable plantation. Now, the cooperative is concentrating on the efficient cultivation of grains including freekeh, burghul wheat, lentils and chickpeas on a vast 2 km2 land. SEAL purchased a tractor for the cooperative that is needed and will help them plow, spray, harvest and transport the grains to the cooperative where packaging and traditional mouneh is produced. Owning the tractor will reduce rental costs of such equipment by 40%. It will also improve efficiency and scalability of the cultivated land.
