Looking to fortify and further develop the beekeeping and honey production sectors, this project invested in not only training for experienced beekeepers but more importantly, for beginners, a particular focus that introduced women to the beekeeping work. The training was comprehensive and covered topics from beehive dynamics and hive handling, to candle making, honey production, cleaning, packaging, and frame making.
SEAL covered the training costs and provided the necessary equipment. The cooperative also manufactured and sold beehives to beekeepers and its members to sell honey.
