Description and Impact

The goal of this project was to consolidate the development of the recently founded Fnaydek Women’s Cooperative and further support the production and marketing of the traditional food products made by the Qememine village women in otherwise difficult to access markets. The project involved lab testing, instruction from a marketing expert, packaging design, product patenting, and shipping.

SEAL's funding allowed 30 women to produce, package, and sell dried plum fruit (“qamareddine of khokh”) to supermarkets throughout Beirut.
