Description and Impact
In 2022, the Kfarmishki Agricultural Cooperative received a $20,000 grant from SEAL to establish a fully equipped industrial kitchen serving farmers and producers across the village. This initiative enabled local producers to transform their agricultural harvests into high-quality, value-added products using modern equipment within the cooperative facility.
Today, the cooperative is known for its traditional mouneh, including kishek, zaatar, sumac, walnuts, tomato paste and sauces, jams and marmalades, olives, and other preserved specialties.
With additional support from a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and building on this success, the cooperative has expanded its activities to include in-house lavender essential oil production and improved olive oil storage. These enhancements allow for a longer sales season and broader market reach.
SEAL' continued support is helping drive this expansion, strengthening local livelihoods and benefiting at least 50 farming families in the community.
