Project Aim
Project Summary:
The Al-Kafaàt Foundation is a nonprofit recognized as a public utility organization. The Foundation’s Catering School trains underprivileged Lebanese youth in hospitality but has struggled since 2018 due to delayed government subsidies and high diesel costs ($50,000/year). These challenges forced the closure of its café-restaurant, reducing training quality and income.
Objectives:
To reopen the school’s café-restaurant, providing 110 students and trainees with practical, hands-on training opportunities. The café’s proceeds will be used to subsidize youth training programs, ensuring the initiative’s sustainability and continued support for skill development. Expected outcomes include: $10,000–$20,000 in first-year café revenue and 50+ daily meals produced, with 50% annual growth.
Implementation Plan:
The Foundation is seeking SEAL’s support to install a solar energy system to reopen it coffee shop and kitchens in order to generate sustainable income.
