Investing in a new and adequately outfitted truck leveraged three folds: 1) Chadra Cooperative acquired its own olive press, and the truck allowed farmers to transport their olive crops. (Additionally, they used the press to help them achieve the fairest possible price for their produce). 2) Because Chadra has a biofuel business creating coal from olive pits, the truck was also used to distribute and sell biofuel to local people (encouraging the environmental and economic benefits of using biofuel). 3) While Chadra Cooperative members had good marketing and distribution channels and high-quality produce, they lacked an economical way of transporting their produce. This truck allowed them to deliver bottled olive oil to the market.
