Sir El Dennieh is renowned for its lush, fertile hills, but the region struggles with a chronic shortage of irrigation water, particularly during dry seasons. This persistent scarcity forces many local farmers to rely solely on rainfed agriculture, which limits crop productivity. To address this challenge, the local municipality has proposed constructing a reservoir to provide a steady and reliable source of irrigation water.

The proposed project aims to tackle the irrigation water crisis by building a reservoir to support the revitalization of agricultural lands. Once completed, the reservoir is expected to provide irrigation for over 500,000 square meters of farmland, directly benefiting more than 50 farmers and their families in surrounding villages. This initiative also aims to ease tensions arising from competition over water resources in the region.

The funding for the project will cover several key activities, including excavation and site preparation, installation of geomembranes and geotextiles for water containment, and construction of fencing and other related infrastructure. With this comprehensive approach, the reservoir is poised to boost agricultural productivity and support the livelihoods of local farmers, while also contributing to greater stability in the community.
