The thyme (zaatar) from Wadi el-Taym is sought-after throughout the country. As the members of the Women Agriculture Cooperative were using outdated equipment to produce their prized organic zaatar, they were not able to take advantage of the increase in demand. This prompted the cooperative to look for ways to increase production including automation with the purchase of advanced equipment. SEAL provided the needed equipment which not only increased production capabilities, but also triggered an 18% reduction in production cost, thus allowing the beneficiaries to increase their income.
