Mejdel el Koura established their Women’s Cooperative in 2012 with the goal of providing employment opportunities and developing a sustainable and thriving community through collaboration that would support women and their families. They make a variety of traditional local products including juice, pickles, dried fruit, herbs, orange blossom water, rose water, and arak. The cooperative participated in local summer festivals, shows and markets. They also were actively researching possibilities for exporting their products internationally.
