Despite the high demand for the crop, olive farmers in Ain El Deleb (pop. 2,500) were still using traditional and unefficient manual methods of cultivation. SEAL funded the purchase of an olive harvesting machine and dumper that improved the production costs and income potential.
This project facilitated an increase in productivity, as well as an increase in the olive oil quality due to a shortened harvesting timeframe and increased ease of transportation.
