Description and Impact
In 2023, SEAL sponsored a collaborative project with eight different cooperatives and municipalities to distribute 40 tons of high-quality fabula potato seeds to 1,600 vulnerable farmers across Lebanon. Each farmer received a 25 kg bag of seeds, successfully planted to yield a much-needed source of food.
Inspired by the success of this endeavor and in light of the current steep prices of potatoes in the Lebanese market, SEAL replicated the initiative. An additional 1,600 vulnerable farmers, facing financial hardship, were provided with the same 25 kg bags of potatoes. The objective was to extend support to farmers in areas not previously covered by our distribution efforts.
