The Majdel Zoun Cooperative established over 50 agricultural tents for varied seasonal plantations, including cucumber and tomato in order to diversify production and create additional job opportunities. However, the cooperative faced many obstacles that included high transportation costs to bring produce to points of sale. The cooperative is 9km from Tyre and 40km from Saida. SEAL’s modest grant of a pick-up truck provided needed trustworthy and economical transportation to support the cooperative of 150 farmers and their families.
