Description and Impact
The mechanical olive harvesters delivered by this grant were used to shear the 17,000 olive trees planted across 900,000 square meters of local lands. The harvesters helped local farmers increase the quantity and quality of their olive production while lowering cost. Each harvester costs $1,290 and leads to savings of $2,500 per farmer per year ($100/day across 25 days each year).
