Description and Impact
SEAL extended a grant to the Community Well-Being Network, Inc. (CWN), which, through a sub-grant to the Sustainable Community Development Network (SCDN), a local Lebanese non-profit organization, is supporting the expansion of a microloan program in Lebanon. This program helps small businesses grow and uplift communities across Lebanon. Each loan, up to $10,000, provides entrepreneurs with critical resources to stabilize or expand their ventures during a time of urgent need.
SCDN carefully selects businesses that deliver genuine community benefits, create or sustain jobs for at least five Lebanese individuals, and indirectly support many more. The program also ensures representation from diverse regions across the country.
As loans are repaid, SCDN reinvests the funds, enabling each contribution to circulate back into the community and magnify its impact beyond the initial grant.
