Description and Impact

In the small town of Al Nahr, the use of traditional irrigation methods meant that water used for irrigation was inefficiently distributed and had high levels of waste. The installation of 2000m of modern irrigation pipes allowed for the efficient transport of water from Wadi Al Kassab Spring to agricultural lands and guaranteed availability of water supply. The cooperative had never before received grant funding or financing from any organization.

This is the first project sponsored by the Young Ambassadors of SEAL, through a fundraising event that took place on April 27, 2017 in NYC. The Ambassadors are a group of motivated individuals with a shared mission to work towards sustainable development throughout Lebanon.
