Beam of the Environment Association requested a grant to construct a hangar for a waste sorting facility to minimize the effect of daily burning of random dumpsites located in Sarafand.
This facility is recycling 3 tons of trash on a daily basis and turning waste into recycled materials to be sold to factories to use as raw materials.
The equipment used in the process consists of compressors for carton and paper in addition to choppers for plastic and glass. 8 municipalities are delivering their non-organic materials to the facility, in addition to institutions and schools. The hangar also includes a conference room to host awareness sessions for the community on the importance of recycling and protecting the environment.
BEA has received from SEAL in 2017 a previous grant for a waste sorting truck for door- to -door waste collection.
This project contributed to the reduction in trash emission by 40%, and it created 8 jobs. 

1,000 houses and 7 workers in the facility.
