SEAL supported an IT initiative that was launched to promote the emergence of a technology sector in Lebanon to engender investment, create jobs, and develop the overall economy. The SEAL grant funded the operating expenses of the IT center for two years: it operated as a centralized access point for diaspora resources that supported the emerging local IT economy at that time and championed needed regulatory changes and infrastructure upgrades to lay the groundwork for the next phase of the IT initiative.
