Description and Impact
The women of the Kawkaba Cooperative are active producers of traditional mouneh, producing items like freekeh, kishk, za’atar, tomato paste, labneh, pickles, and dried fruits for local markets. To help them increase output and reduce the strain of manual labor, SEAL has provided essential equipment, including burghul and thyme grinders, a sesame seed roaster, a kishk mill, juicers, a fruit dryer, and a vacuum sealer. Additional resources such as a freezer, a refrigerator, a burghul sorting line machine, and jars have also been supplied.

With these new tools, the cooperative's mouneh production is expected to double, leading to significant additional income for its members. The local municipality supports these efforts by providing free electricity from its generator, promoting local production. SEAL has a track record of funding similar successful projects, demonstrating its commitment to empowering local communities.
