Description and Impact
Honey making in Lebanon provides three crucial advantages: 1 - Economic benefits: honey provides an alternative income source for farmers in the Akkar region, 2 - Environmental benefits: bees are essential to cross-pollination and also spread seeds for food crop, and 3 - Health benefits: local honey has many benefits from cold prevention to allergy relief. Each cooperative member received two metal cages, which included 10 frames of bees each; adding up to a total of 90 cages with 900 wooden frames.
