Supporting a larger economic role for the women of Al Taybeh village, this grant provided industrial equipment for the production of their homemade zaatar, sumac, and sesame. Beyond providing sustainable economic opportunity, SEAL’s grant preserved the traditions of homemade products, development of these techniques, and inspiring future generations to continue them.
This grant created six full-time jobs and led to a 50% production increase for cooperative members. Additionally, farmers in the village gained an estimated $27,000 per year from sales to the cooperative.
