Description and Impact
Given the vast areas of arable land in this region there was an opportunity to grow much needed chickpeas and wheat for the local consumption of farmers. As a result of this project, 350 dunums of flat land were planted using 8.75 Ton of the best kind of wheat recommended for the region (ACSAD 1133). In addition, 150 dunums of chickpeas (3.75T), a staple of Lebanese food, was also planted in between already existing olive trees to increase the potential use of the land.
