Description and Impact
This project was launched in 2023 and completed in 2024.

In 2022 and 2023, Darbechtar Coop received 2 grants from SEAL, totaling $37,000. The grants included 8.75T of wheat, 3.75T of chickpeas, a 3-wheeled harvester, and a thresher. The 375 supported farmers successfully planted 400,000 m2 of wheat and 150,000 m2 of chickpeas. They collaborated by sharing the equipment to harvest and thresh their productions efficiently.

Thanks to the project's success and the Coop’s commitment to expanding its impact in more areas in Koura, SEAL has renewed its support for Darebaachtar Coop by providing additional seeds, which have already been distributed and promptly planted by the farmers. This extension of support is set to benefit 120 new farmers who have planted 20 tons of wheat on 1 million square meters and 100 farmers who have cultivated 6 tons of chickpeas on 300,000 square meters.
In addition to the seed distribution, SEAL has also allocated 5 tons of fodder seeds to previous beneficiaries. These seeds have been planted in their olive groves, enhancing the sustainability of their agricultural practices. Furthermore, as part of the grant, a tractor and rack for crop transportation and sieving will be provided, with the intention of shared use among the farmers. This equipment will be made available during the harvesting period.
