SEAL funded the creation of two marzipan confection workshops at the Center of Arts and Crafts in Jbeil-Byblos. The center trained young artists qualified in the artistry and craftwork typical of the region: cabinet making, wrought-iron work, ceramics, pottery, glassware, tapestry, rug making, mosaics, and wickerwork.
The center provided artists with a space to work and exhibit their crafts free of charge. It also provided artists with the opportunity to commercialize their works through an international network that was made possible thanks to cooperation with European cities and inclusion in the “Biennale of Arts and Crafts.”
