SEAL has funded the installation of 255 solar panels, along with the complete system and steel structure, for the Municipality of Ain Ebel to sustainably power an artesian well that currently relies on diesel fuel. The well supplies water to 650 households and supports local agriculture.
While a solar system was installed in 2020 to operate the pressure pump, the deeper submersible pump—located 600 meters underground—continues to consume around 200 liters of diesel daily. This new solar installation will eliminate fuel costs, ensure a reliable water supply year-round—especially during dry seasons—and power a nursery that produces over 1.2 million seedlings annually, benefiting 25% of Ain Ebel’s population.
The project promotes sustainable water access, supports agricultural productivity and livelihoods, and reduces diesel dependency, leading to lower operational costs and a smaller environmental footprint.
