Description and Impact
The Monastery of St. Michael owns over 600,000m² of land in Benabil, an area which had been abandoned until 2005. The monks had purchased 20 milk cows, 50 pigs and 50 cases of bees to develop it. SEAL provided a grant that helped develop an organic chicken farm, creating 30 new jobs for individuals from the Mar Mikhael Benabil, Ain El Sendiyen, and Ain El Zaytouni areas.
