The project supported the Apple Value Chain (AVC) in response to the apple crisis in Lebanon and the need to reduce crop waste and monetize what are considered to be low value apple produce. The goal was to establish a new line of business that converts unsold apples into hard cider. This required the equipment necessary for pressing, fermenting, bottling, corking, and capping with the goal of selling to small shops.
SEAL provided the Douma Agricultural Cooperative all the necessary equipment for cider production.
