Description and Impact
SEAL provided Hasbani Municipalities Union a grant to purchase 2 new Chippers machine, professionally designed and manufactured in Lebanon, and funded the repair of an old existing one. These machines chop the residues of tree pruning to lower the risk of fires caused by traditionally burning trees branches. In turn, this organic residue is mixed with olive pits to be used as eco- briquettes for healthy heating and organic composts for agricultural usage. 

The Municipalities Union is cooperating with 12 local municipalities to share and make good use of these machines: Hasbaya, Ain Qanya, Chwiya, Mimes, Al Kfeir, Kawkaba, Al Khelwat, Marj El Zouhour, Kfardnis, Berghos, Adlafa and Kamha.
