In Amioun, organic waste from 1,500 households, shops, and restaurants has been burned, causing odors and potential health risks. To address this, the municipality, with support from SEAL, established a 120m² composting site with four fermentation pits to convert organic waste into compost. The compost will be distributed to farmers free of charge.

The municipality aims to implement an efficient solution to preserve the environment and protect public health. A daily monitoring and supervision plan will ensure proper operation, while regular maintenance will sustain the project over time.

SEAL provided a grant of 40 iron trash bins, building materials for the composting site, a waste treatment network, and iron fencing for safe organic waste collection. The municipality will supply essential equipment and cover workers' wages to support the project’s success.
