Project Aim
The association is a SEAL beneficiary that has previously received two grants. In 2018, they were awarded $14,088 for a drip irrigation system in Bkifa, operating under the name Bkifa Agricultural Cooperative at that time. In 2021, they received another grant of $6,885 for a drip irrigation system to irrigate 20,000m² of land with thyme and oregano near Bkifa, as part of the Green Gold Project.
Currently, they are requesting a grant for additional support for the Green Gold Project. Due to rising fuel and water costs, compounded by ongoing economic crises, the project has faced significant financial losses. To overcome these challenges, the association aims to build a 700 m³ water collection reservoir to reduce its dependence on costly water tanks. They also plan to install a solar system to power water pumps, thus lowering energy costs.
The association will fund the digging of the reservoir and SEAL will support other expenses, including geotextile and geomembrane liners as well as a solar system comprising 10 panels, an inverter, batteries, cables, and a steel base.
