The community of Baadaran is predominantly engaged in agricultural production, with fruit cultivation (apples, cherries, and grapes) and poultry farming constituting the main sources of income. Chronic water scarcity has significantly constrained irrigation capacity, resulting in reduced crop yields, limited livestock productivity, and decreased household revenues.

Previous SEAL Support: *In 2018, SEAL provided technical support through the supply of an agricultural shredding machine to enhance on-farm resource management.

Implementation Plan
SEAL funded the construction of a 1,000 m³ shared water storage reservoir on public land in Baadaran, implemented in collaboration with the Al Shouf Cedar Society. The reservoir serves as a centralized water infrastructure to support irrigation and livestock water needs, ensuring improved water availability during critical agricultural periods.
The project is designed to sustain 42 direct jobs, improve agricultural productivity, and increase beneficiaries’ net profits by an estimated 20% within the first year of operation.

The scope of works included site excavation, installation of a geomembrane lining to ensure water retention and structural integrity, perimeter fencing for safety and asset protection, and the installation of water conveyance piping connecting the reservoir to beneficiary plots and facilities
