Oum El Nour received funding from SEAL to expand its dairy production unit, a core component of its rehabilitation program for women recovering from substance use disorder (SUD).

Established in 2018, the unit operates as a social enterprise, producing artisanal dairy products using milk sourced from four local farmers while providing training, employment, and income for women in recovery.

To increase capacity and efficiency, SEAL financed the purchase and installation of modern dairy equipment, including a milk pot, heaters, cheese press, milk analyzer, walk-in refrigerator, and solar panels. These upgrades are expected to increase production by 50%, raise monthly revenue to $18,000, and significantly improve hygiene, product quality, and financial sustainability.
The project aims to expand production capacity, enhance efficiency and quality, and strengthen the rehabilitation and employment pathway for women in recovery, while ensuring long-term sustainability through solar energy and automation.

Implementation was carried out in three phases:
Phase 1 – construction of cooler and proofer rooms;
Phase 2 – installation of the solar power system;
Phase 3 – procurement and installation of dairy processing equipment.
