Description and Impact
SEAL’s grant supported women and families in Bazoun with the establishment of a food production center to convert unsold apples into multiple derivative products such as molasses, chips, vinegar, and cider in addition to producing other mouneh products such as tomato sauce and pickles.
The center initially employed four people, (three of which are women). The employees will be cross-trained to work on each machine, washing and drying fruits, making vinegar, and the filling and capping process. The Association is creating its own brand name to market the products.
