Description and Impact
The Debbine Cooperative requested a grant from SEAL to build an agricultural farming tent to grow roses.
This one-of-a-kind project aimed at fulfilling the needs of the local market for roses in Marjeyoun and Hasbaya that had 15 flower shops purchasing roses from other regions.
However, due to the economic crisis in Lebanon, the Coop members decided to change the project from roses cultivation into vegetables cultivation.
This project helped 54 beneficiaries (14 direct and 40 indirect) and created 6 new jobs with net profits amounting to 4,000,000 LBP in 2020 and 19,000,000 LBP in 2021 to the coop.
Most production was used by the coop in its mouneh making factory.
