Background
The Monastery of St. Michael owns over 600,000 sq meters of land in Bnabil, an area forsaken until 2005. The monks are looking to develop it, from both an economic and social perspective, and had already purchased (using proceeds from the sale of pine nuts) 20 milk cows, 50 pigs and 50 cases of bees. SEAL contributed to the development of an organic chicken farm that will create 30 jobs for individuals from the Mar Mikhael Bnabil, Ain El Sendiyen, and Ain El Zaytouni areas.
